A full day of practical and theory work to give you tips, skills and more knowledge when teaching your clients. I will be joined by Karen MacLeod MCSP MSc POGP Specialist pelvic health physiotherapist.   


Add this essential/vital/fundamental component /ingredient to your Pilates toolkit. Relevant to clients of all ages and stages of life; men as well as women. Expand your knowledge of all things pelvic floor. Recognise your value in this field. Gain confidence in conveying what it is, where it is, how to use it, what goes wrong and how to fix it. A multifaceted evidence-based approach to learning about the pelvic floor muscles including pain, weakness, tightness, over-activity and their role in posture, stability and movement  as well as the many associated pelvic floor dysfunctions relating to the bladder, bowel, prolapse and sexual function. Pelvic floor dysfunction can seriously impact your clients’ ability to participate fully in physical activities. Discover how you can help them by learning to:


  • recognise the signs of pelvic floor dysfunction
  •  educate, bust myths and break taboos
  • empower clients to address their pelvic health

Take home moves and strategies to ensure your Pilates has added value and is not part of the problem.

The BACK!!!! Common complaints, concerns, watch points and corrections

I will be joined by Osteopath and natural health practitioner Antonia Boulton for a full one day workshop. Antonia has been an Osteopath, working in practices around the world for almost 20 years. Believing in a holistic approach to health, she has also trained in nutrition, meditation & is a certified Health Coach. Antonia recently closed her clinic to focus more on freelance health writing, her coaching practice & teaching functional movement. We will begin with a quick refresher on basic anatomy, with a focus on how this relates to movement in everyday life (& in class) and how imbalances, restrictions & direct injury can create chronic detrimental effects throughout the body. 


Following on from this, we’ll look at some injuries & conditions you may find most commonly occur with your clients ~ 

issues such as increased lordosis, disc injuries, pelvic imbalance, in addition to conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Osteopaenia/Osteoporosis & auto immune conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. 


There will also be a practical session & plenty of opportunity for Q & A.

Isle of Wight retreat

Come and join Jo and me in this beautiful venue near Freshwater, nestled in the heart of Tapnell Farm where you can enjoy a relaxing weekend away. Included in the weekend is 3 nights accommodation in this wonderful farmhouse with breakfast for 2 mornings and 2 evening meals. There is a restaurant and licensed bar on the site and a huge hen coop where you are invited to collect eggs to your hearts content if you would like more for breakfast! Right outside our farmhouse is a hot tub for our exclusive use and an outdoor pizza oven that we will be putting to good use on the second evening. In addition to a range of Pilates classes we will be organising walks. Cycle hire can be arranged and we are planning on a clay pigeon shoot on the last day for those interested.

The Posture Workshop

I will once again be joined by osteopath and functional movement specialist Antonia Boulton. The day will cover basic anatomy and posture analysis, examining in detail how to perform a posture analysis on your client, what to look out for and what considerations need to be addressed and how to best adapt. The day will give you a confidence in assessing posture and understanding much better how to modify and support.
