I’m on a mission to improve the painful effects of bad posture amongst employees in the workplace, and in turn improve their productivity and morale.
Did you know back pain is the UK’s leading cause of long-term sickness, responsible for over 15 million sick days in 2013? It’s estimated that three million people are taking long-term leave or say they’re unable to work due to back pain (according to research from Nuffield Health). A stat we can reduce with good Pilates practice.
After a lunchtime Pilates class with me, your team will get back to their desks feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. I’ll use a selection of small equipment to add fun, challenge and variety to class so all they need do is show up!
It’s totally flexible, I can either come in and take a regular class or as a one off to give staff a quick and easy routine they can do together or at their desk. I’ll even leave them with handouts and download links.
I’ve seen these sessions help with team bonding but also help reduce stress in the workplace, keeping individual’s calmer and focused:
I can offer frequency of classes to suit groups of up to 12, offering:
- Exercise to keep upper body mobile
- Posture correction
- Breathing Techniques
- Relaxation techniques
- Referrals to specialists
- Ongoing support materials including downloads and handouts.
Juliet Nicholas conducted Pilates and fitness classes as part of our Employee Benefits Program in our Philippine office. She created a customised program suitable for the needs of a corporate client and took into consideration the available free time of the employees and office space. On a shift basis, Juliet worked with over 400 of our employees who gave overwhelmingly positive feedback about the classes. She is a very engaging teacher and the employees appreciated her fun and functional approach, gleaning valuable tips and exercises in relation to fitness in their workspace.
Juliet came into our offices on a weekly basis and taught Pilates to our employees in the office space. She was professional, engaging and able to modify and adapt to both the space available and the various needs of our team. The feedback was always very positive, sessions enjoyed and a huge help to individuals who spend long periods of time sitting at a desk and need to address posture issues.
