Menopause and pelvic health. Come and join us online for a talk.
Tuesday 18th June.
I am delighted to invite you to join me online as I welcome Emma Hammerton, specialist physiotherapist with The Arches physiotherapy in Lymington.
A word from Emma -
"Approaching and going through the menopause can have a considerable impact on a woman's pelvic health amongst all areas of their well-being. Decreasing oestrogen levels can have a testing impact on general health as well as pelvic health, where issues such as osteoporosis, incontinence, prolapse and painful sex can arise. Pelvic physiotherapy can help!
My name is Emma and I am a chartered physiotherapist who has specialised in physiotherapy for obstetrics and urogynaecology since 2007, which has included 15 years working within the NHS at the Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton and with the Southampton Bladder and Bowel Community Service, before offering a private physiotherapy service at The Arches Lymington in recent years. My work involves helping women with a range of problems from pregnancy-related conditions like pelvic girdle pain and diastasis, to urogynaecology symptoms that include bladder leakage, prolapse and vaginal pain.
I will be happy to explain the structure and role of the pelvic floor and how the menopause can impact its function. I will introduce you to some of the problems women can face when pelvic floor function is compromised and the pathways of self-help and care available to you - including those all important pelvic floor exercises!"
Everyone is welcome and joining us is very easy and completely FREE.
